Sometimes, just sometimes when I totally want to feel in my own zone, I grab my headphones and listen to my special playlist. At times when I feel drowsy, I put some music on and suddenly it gives me more energy to undertake something in for example the household. Music not only gives more energy but also more inspiration for writing this blog for example, gets ups to see what music is on the music channel. Oh no this is so wrong: Lil Kleine ft. Ronnie Flex – “Drank & Drugs”. Sorry you did not read this, this weird song has been on number 1 for several weeks in Holland. Now where was I? Yes inspiration, or in this case distraction. So for every mood there is at least 1k songs.

About 15 years ago we started (illegally) downloading music on our computer. At first we had Napster, followed by KaZaA and now Torrenz takes the lead. Nowadays we stream music through Spotify and Deezer more than ever. We pay a little but therefore we get more than 20 million songs in return. That’s always cheaper than buying music at the iTunes Store. Or we just simply watch music videos online on YouTube. Florida ft. Robin Thicke – “I Don’t Like It, I Love It”, way better song. Awesome!

Not only do I love music, I also love to write songs myself. It started when I was about ten years old when me and my classmate called ourselves “Twice” and rewrote  existing songs with our own lyrics. Super cute and full of errors of course. After that I started to write on my own melodies or instrumental music/beats of friends or internet. Some of those lyrics you can find at Songs on this website. Some of them I kept on MP3 and I should still have on an old external hard drive where I stored them…

Lost Frequencies ft. Janieck Devy – “Reality”. I Shazammed this one the first time when I heard this song. Shazam! Worlds greatest invention for when you don’t know the name of the song or artist :).

So I like to write and sing (my own songs). Just like my mother, sister, grandmother, aunt… It’s all in the family from my mother’s side. Unfortunately I have never learned how to play an instrument. I am learning to play the key board/piano now because I hope to inherit the piano that has been in the family for more than 100 years(!). I grew up with any kind of music style but mostly latin music from my father’s side and female greats like Celine Dion, Carole King and Kate Bush where my mother used to listen to. About singing myself, I’m a very shy girl and only sing when I’m alone. That’s because I don’t find myself the worlds greatest singer so I (mostly) keep it to myself. I sing in the shower, in the car, at home, actually everywhere… Truth or dare?
